Sous Chef

This is an excellent opportunity to establish yourself with a global brand. With a recent refurb and solid team in place, as a Sous you are coming into a great environment and will have the chance to focus on the food and help push the restaurant forward.

The job role

  • Accommodating 100 – 200 covers on a busy service, including breakfast, lunch & dinner
  • Catering for weddings & functions
  • Managing the team and leading by example
  • Covering the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management, including rotas and GP
  • Stock control, stock takes and implementing ways to minimalise food wastage
  • Working to spec whilst preparing many dishes in house, such as pizza dough and pasta
  • Run the pass and delegating duties appropriately
  • Represent the brand in a professional and positive manner

The ideal candidate

  • Branded hotel background would be extremely advantageous
  • Experience with making fresh pizza dough and pasta
  • Comfortable running large teams
  • Can be creative and implement ideas with specials
  • Able to thrive under pressure as this can be an extremely fast-paced environment
  • Understands the ethos of working for a branded establishment
  • Has excellent interpersonal skills
  • Takes pride in leading by example
  • Has a passion for the industry
  • Strong CDP’s/Junior Sous will also be considered

The package

  • Salary of £22,000 per annum (works out just over £10.50 p/h)
  • Additional gratuities paid quarterly
  • Annual salary review
  • Contract to 40 hours a week
  • Any hours worked above 40 will be owed in lieu
  • Mixture of earlies, straights and splits so not every day is a split shift
  • Meals on duty
